THE DFW VETERANS CHAMBER

A brief story of how our chamber began told by our Founder: Cristie Remmel.

As our world changed in 2020 I sat on the couch wondering how I was going to get thru the pandemic. My business like many others was devastated. My clients closed their brick and mortar places and just like that I was too was out of business. A few days into the pandemic I received an email from a friend asking me if the Veterans Chamber of Commerce was a real thing. I quickly set out to find out. After doing some investigation I decided that this was the next logical step. Sure; start a brand new business at the beginning of the pandemic with zero money. Yes! why not? Great idea! I signed the paperwork and called all my Veteran friends and patriot supporters and told them of my endeavor. I was actually surprised when they all said YES! within shy of 4 weeks I had a chamber of commerce for Veterans and patriot supporters. I gathered a few leaders and we worked on the foundation as we started the chamber meetings to help our community stay in busienss. I can’t say the journey hasn’t been fun, because it has been a blast. I would not have it anyother way. This one small detour has brought me more joy and satisfaction than any other thing I’ve done in my life. I get up each and every morning knowing that I’m so blessed and I know that I am making a huge impact in our community. I absolutely love it! Thank God for changing my life and allowing me to change other people’s life as well. I could not and would not want to do anything else at this time.
