Donnie LaGrange is a Veteran’s Advocate, Entrepreneur, Coach, former Professor, Retired Army Officer, Wealth Advisor, husband and father of three. He truly believes when Veterans work together, we deepen our collective sense of purpose, our businesses thrive, we find better balance and happiness in our personal lives, and our communities develop a better understanding of our value and respect us.
Donnie holds a B.S. in Economics from The United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology (counseling) with a focus in adult development from the University of Texas (Austin), and served as an Assistant Professor of Psychology as a rotating faculty member at USMA. His business credentials include the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma (SSGB) from Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University. Donnie is a Registered Investment Advisor, holding a Uniform Investment Advisor Law License (Series 65). He brings a rare blend of financial and human performance optimization to his advisory work with Veterans as well as his firm’s Clients.
During retirement transition, Donnie founded LaGrange Financial Group, LLC, a 100% Veteran-Owned business, formed in the State of Texas. To monetize, he initially contracted with the largest life insurance company in the U.S., where he met our President, Matt Ostergaard. While networking, he was blessed to meet the founders of Murphy & Sylvest Wealth Management, and a role as a fiduciary Wealth Advisor. The 7-member firm boasts 3x Army veterans including CEO Tom
Murphy, one Marine, and even though Susan didn’t personally serve, her daughter is in the pacific now. Donnie found a rewarding second career and is excited to share his experience and knowledge with other veterans in the hopes he can help their businesses excel and deepen their sense of purpose.
Donnie, Amy and their three kids reside in Rockwall, TX, near where Amy grew up. Katie plays H.S. basketball. The boys wrestle, play baseball, and football. Donnie, a former collegiate wrestler and state champ boxer, has coached numerous youth sports over the past 10 years. He also serves his community on the Executive Committee of American Legion Post 117, a member of the West Point Society of North Texas, The VA ETS Sponsorship Program, Rockwall Chamber of Commerce, Rockwall Veterans Business Alliance, the Senior Services Alliance-Rockwall, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Police Regimental Association.
